Feel Good Friday

The Girl Next Door Grows Up Blog ( www.thegirlnextdoorgrowsup.com ) started this Feel Good Friday thing.  You are to write about what makes you happy, and she gives you five prompts to choose from.  I chose this one:

       –  Just make a list. List 5 things that made you really happy this week. No matter how bad or boring you think your week was, I bet you can find 5 things. –

It was easy for me to find five things that made me happy, but, unfortunately, my problem is that I can’t remember everything that happened last week.  (I’m just now getting used to dating my cheques 2010.)  So apparently, at 48, I’m edging toward senility a few decades early.  I’ve always been precocious like that.  I spoke early, I took my first steps early, and now I’m losing my mind early. . .

But I’m happy.

I’m like that baby that can sleep in its dirty diaper.

So I decided that I will count at least five things that made me happy that I remember in my life this week.  First on my list is my husband, Randy:

As you can see, he suffers from an excess of happiness himself.  (Or twinges of senility like me. . . It’s hard to tell which)

What else made me happy this week?  My three young friends, Larry, Moe, and Curly:

Something else that made me happy this week was visiting with special friends who live in far-flung places.  (Montana is pretty far-flung) :

And now we temporarily slip from the warm and fuzzy to crass materialism.  Stated simply, my jacuzzi made me happy. . .  especially after I ALMOST did some yard work:

Okay, I know that this is not me in my jacuzzi, but the resemblance is uncanny.

Now when I was to come up with five things that made me happy this week, it was hard to stick with only five.  So this last slot will be dedicated to all the rest of it . . .

Drum-roll, please. . .

My mom:

( I mean, really . . . who needs meds? )

Reading Carol Goodman’s latest book, ‘Arcadia Falls':

The big box of chocolates that my husband just brought home for me:

(I’m certain that eating some of them will probably make me even more happy.)

And lastly, but definitely NOT the least of what made me happy this week – I was notified of a new book review of my first book, ‘Charades With A Lunatic’ – done by J B Vadeboncoeur in her own Feel Good Friday Blog ( www.jbvadeboncoeur.info ).  I absolutely love it when book lovers buckle themselves in and let me take them on a ride.                                              It’s an honor.

I’ve had a truly happy week.

My weeping cherry just lost it’s last bud today and now the leaves are all out. But there are plenty of avalanche lilies, wild violets, daffodils, quince flowers, hellebore flowers, and purple creeping myrtle blossoms still… and a hammock :)
