New Stuff And Strange Mutations

My husband and I have been horrendously busy this past week, revamping, restructuring, and pulling my Web site out of the abyss of destruction.  Frenzied labor, fed by vats of Dove chocolates and Penguin Ed’s, kept us at it throughout the day . . .  intensive tutorials . . . searching for loopholes . . . blood, sweat, and tears . . . sleepless nights . . . hour after hour after hour . . .

Will I rescue my site from some server (or something . . . I wasn’t quite clear on that) in Arizona?  Will I ever own my domain name?  Will I ever get to use my account at Godaddy.com, or will I just wistfully wave to it from across the World Wide Web, feeding it dollars while I remain forever locked out of my own account?

WILL  I  EVER  FIX  THE  PART  THAT  ACCEPTS  OTHERS’  COMMENTS  ON  MY  BLOGS????

Oh, the agony of being soooo close, yet so far.  Almost there.  Just ONE snag that isn’t resolving  (YET, that is) . . . After ALL THAT HARD WORK . . .

Okay. . . so maybe WE aren’t that hard at it . . . But the man in the background is.

Meet Val . . .

. . . the Computer Whisperer. . .

He rode in from Montana, with his lovely wife, Sarah . . .

Here is her foot next to some bear scat.

But to get back to the subject . . . I have revamped most of my Website.  I welcome you to look around – tour the site . . . open tabs, explore . . . pretend that you are at a party at your friend’s house and they have just given you permission to look through their medicine cabinet . . . Much has already been done, but there is still quite a bit of work left to do (once I ask Val to refresh my memory on the proper order of steps to embed a link) .  I will embellish the cast of Characters & Quirks.  I will start putting out a monthly newsletter with many goodies (to be revealed at a later time).  I will hold contests.

Meanwhile . . . more work, but ALMOST THERE . . .

So while Val was taming the beast that is WordPress (my own personal screwed up version), Sarah was teaching me how to play with a photoshop program that someone had downloaded for me (www.photoshop.com).  I sent some of the results to my brother in Tulsa.  The pictures scared him.  I didn’t think they were THAT bad . . .

This is a photograph of my other brother, and his beautiful wife, who live in New York.

BEFORE  PHOTOSHOP  . . .

AND  AFTER . . .

(Just watch – I’ll never be invited back to NY to visit them after this . . . Maybe I should have asked permission first before posting these)

So just to even out the Freak Stigma, here is one of my husband and me . . .

And who said the Dr. Suess characters weren’t real?

But back to reality . . .  Stay tuned!  My site’s Extreme Makeover will be finished soon.  I will go wild in my Characters & Quirks page.  I will soon have a newsletter out, have contests, and have more blogs where I will invite you all to play.

THANK  YOU,  VAL  AND  SARAH!!

And this one is for you, Maddy:  Randy’s head on Lexi’s body:

You're right, Maddy... It IS scary!

I don’t remember the bear residue being so vivid. At least I was skinnier in that picture. I am afraid I have created a monster, or perhaps I have helped to unleash a hidden genius, Thea, if you only had a full blown, modern version of Photoshop, O, the things you could do, the heights that you could attain! I am not yet finished with you, grasshopper….one more session and you won’t even care about that cloning filter anymore.

You should have seen the picture I titled: ‘The Underground People of Walmart’.

Oh I wish I knew how to Photoshop. Does it take days to learn?

Your sense of humor is everywhere.

It would have probably taken me days to learn how to Photoshop if I hadn’t had my friend teach me. If someone shows you how to open up a picture, and then show you how to use the tools, it only takes a few minutes to learn it. Then, when you play with it, you’ll figure out how to manipulate the tools to do whatever you want.
Photoshop is so fun, I wish I had more pictures in my computer to play with. :D
